Common questions

Where can I compare a word across dialects?

From any word in a story or a review card: open its definition and tap Compare Dialects. Each version comes with transliteration and audio.

Which dialects are compared?

Egyptian, Levantine, Moroccan Darija, Iraqi, Gulf (Khaleeji), Saudi (Hijazi) and Modern Standard Arabic.

Should I learn more than one dialect?

Learn one well first. Knowing the common swaps, like عايز in Egyptian and بدي in Levantine for “I want”, makes the others much easier to follow.
