๐Ÿ“

Multiple choice

See an Arabic word and pick the English meaning, or the other way round. The fastest way to work through a topic and find out which words have not stuck yet.

๐ŸŽง

Listening

Hear the word spoken in your dialect and choose what it means. This is the mode that closes the gap between recognising a word on the page and catching it in conversation.

๐ŸŽค

Speaking

Say the word out loud and get scored on whether you were understood. Useful for the sounds English does not have โ€” ุน, ุญ, ู‚ and the emphatic letters.

Common questions

Are the Arabic games free?

Yes. You can play without an account. Signing in adds saved progress, XP and a review deck that remembers the words you got wrong.

Which dialects can I play in?

Egyptian Arabic, Levantine, Moroccan Darija and Modern Standard Arabic. The word lists and the audio change with the dialect you pick, so you are not learning Fusha vocabulary with an Egyptian accent bolted on.

Do I need to know the Arabic alphabet first?

Not for the listening mode, which works from audio and English. For the reading modes it helps a great deal โ€” the interactive alphabet takes about an hour to get through and makes everything after it easier.

Can I play with my own vocabulary?

Yes. Choose your saved words as the source instead of a topic, and the game will draw from the deck you have built up rather than a preset list.

Are these games good for children?

They work for any age, though the vocabulary topics are chosen for adult learners โ€” travel, food, work, family. There is no time pressure and nothing to lose, so they suit a slow pace.
