Arabic spelling practice: put the letters in order
See a meaning, hear the word, and rebuild it from scrambled letters. The letters join up as you place them, which is how you learn what Arabic words look like.

Watch the letters join
Each letter you place joins onto the last, the way it would in handwriting. Building words yourself is the quickest way to learn how the joined forms fit together.
Hints that teach
Stuck? A hint keeps the right start of the word and places the next letter, so you see where you went wrong.
Common questions
How do I learn to spell in Arabic?
Arabic spelling is mostly regular: once you know the letters, words are written as they sound, apart from the short vowels, which are usually left out. Rebuilding words teaches you which letters carry the long vowels.
Can I type instead of tapping?
Yes, on an Arabic keyboard. Typing ا can place أ or إ, so you don’t need every variant.
Try it in your dialect
